How can I Verify and Test for myself?
Q :
by Dan from Racine, Wisconsin
How can I test at home? I buy organic meats I buy regular. They taste the same. How do I test for antibiotics myself, omega 3's? Or am I just paying higher prices "thinking" it is better. Same for vegetables how do I know there are pesticides in them? Are they really bad if the FDA says it is OK? I am just so tired of 2 sides to every story. I want to know if I am putting in this effort to save my health. I have been to government databases. I want more. How do I get them? I want to do the tests

Organic meats is NOT as important as grass fed as nearly all grass fed animals are organic but the converse is not true.  Omega-3's are not something that warrants testing. As I have said repeatedly your primary source of omega-3 should be krill or fish oil.  You might want to independently confirm the toxins in the food like mercury, PSBs, dioxins for the fish/krill oil or pesticides for the meat. There are a number of good labs you can use and they can easily be found on Google.

Mistake: "Grass-fed may not be healthy, but it sure is tender". That should have been Grain-fed beef....

I can only get grass-fed organic beef from internet sites. I have tried 3 different places and all of them had extremely tough beef. I even bought fillet mignon steaks, tenderized them with a Jaquard and it was still so tough that I threw it out! I will now grind any beef I have left and hope to have steakburgers. Grass-fed may not be healthy, but it sure is tender....
