A Different Take on Death From Carl Jung

Last year I posted a popular article that revealed 19 facts about death … that you probably didn’t want to know. In this YouTube video, however, is some information about death that you may want to hear, as told by renowned psychologist Carl Jung.

Jung speaks about death from a spiritual perspective, and gives his view that death is just as psychologically important as birth. Death is not necessarily an “end,” he says, because the psyche isn’t entirely confined to space and time (for instance, you can see dreams and visions of future).

The psyche may serve a practical continuation of life beyond time and space, and, as such, Jung believes death should be regarded as a goal and something to look forward to. No matter what your personal beliefs are, this video is sure to get you thinking.

I agree with Jung on many levels. The most interesting thing is that most people focus on the future (what has not been). This eventually leads to fear of what has not been, death. What if death was the beginning and when we were born we are actually dying? If you beleive in karmic laws, then life never ends. It is continuous and birth and death are the etheric names that we have applied to these journey's in life.

As humans, there is evolution (body to spirit) and involution (spirit to body). So when we are born, are we humans having spiritual experieces or spirits having human experiences. As Yogananda said, you have to have thousands of life times in order to be born into a human experience.

So what is real and what is not? What is visible and what is not? Death is something that we have created in my opinion. When the physical body starts to decline, what about the other body's (mental, emotional and causal). This is the time when they leave the body and the physical body does die. But do the others die, do they continue into another body, into another lifetime. One will never KNOW for sure and all we can really do is speculate. We can all have beleifs and that is what makes our own journey's special.

"One will never KNOW for sure and all we can really do is speculate."  I disagree.  At the age of 71, I have gone through enough experiences & done enough research to "KNOW for sure" what is true in the matter of life & death & what is not.  I have reserched quite a number of religions, etc. & was an atheist for a number of years.  I can say with certainty being an atheist was the worst of all the experiences!  In 1969, at the age of 34, as an atheist I was confronted by God (my testimony is online on my site but I don't know if I am allowed to post the address here) & have spent the last 37 years studying the Bible & living out in the laboratory of life's experiences the reality of what the Bible says & can attest & affirm that what the Bible says about life & death is absolutely true beyound a shadow of doubt!  There is much evidence also from Bible believing Christians who have visited heaven either through NDE or being transported there (as the apostle Paul was - 2 Cor. 12).  (I wonder have any Muslims such testimony regarding having "visited" their "paradise.")

Josh or others. Can you please type up what this video says? My hearing is shot and I would love to know what Jung says.

I read some of the comments and I'm in agreement about what you, Josh, wrote here. Good stuff.

Josh said: "So when we are born, are we humans having spiritual experieces or spirits having human experiences."

To go way out on a limb, I'd say that we are pieces of the Divine, having experiences. I don't believe there is any dividing line between what is 'body' and what is 'spirit', aside from the boundaries that our developing understanding creates in trying to explain it all. *smiles*

I am a mother who lost a son almost 26 years ago. He was murdered at 17 by a boy who was around his age. Six months after his death I had an experience that I know to be truth because I am the type to analyze so as not to just believe because it makes me feel better. I won't go into too many details but I wish to share this especially with people who have lost someone they dearly love to give them hope. I saw my son's face in a mist. He was radiant and radiating a vibration of love so intense that I believe we wouldn't be able to survive in a human body if we were to live with this type of vibration. He spoke to me through my mind telling me the words that I can never forget. "There is a love that goes beyond the physical." When I received this message I noticed that their was no feeling of revenge or hatred for the boy that had cut his life short. It brought me peace and the realization that life does go on in a different form. You can analyze all you want but the bottom line is in the end you will be judged on how well you love.
