Amazing Video Details Conditions That Cause Bird Flu

This powerful video describes in vivid detail the treatment of chickens raised for food and its impact on human health.

The video, a culmination of a five-year investigation by PETA, details the inhumane and unhealthy conditions in which chickens are forced to live.

These conditions range from their living literally on top of each other from the time they are hatched until they die, to their being debeaked merely to prevent them from harming or killing their cage mates, largely out of distress.

Dr. Mercola's Comment:

The conditions described in this video are precisely the ones that make birds sick, and predispose them to the bird flu, as described in great detail in my book, The Great Bird Flu Hoax. Although the video is from India, similar conditions exist in many of the farms that supply chicken to the U.S. markets.

These conditions make the birds so sick that, just to keep them alive, antibiotics are typically added to their feed. This feed is also laced with pesticides.

Unlike conventional fruits and vegetables, where peeling and washing can greatly reduce the amounts of these toxins, the pesticides and drugs livestock animals get exposed to during their lives can become incorporated into their very tissues, especially their fat.

While you can cut off some of it, you may still be ingesting high amounts of toxins if you consume such foods regularly.

Hopefully, this information will make you think twice about purchasing most commercial chickens. Instead, I advise you to choose to obtain food from farmers who raise the animals humanely and allow them to roam freely.

This video give me about 1 billion more reasons to eat organic! The shock value is incredible! Yes I know that organic animals are killed as well so they can be eaten. I am certain through research that 99% of what you see in this video does not happen on organic farms, etc. Except for the killing in the end, with hopefully good intenstions!

I'm sorry for what we are seeing in this video but I can assure you this is not the way things are done on my farm.

I have grown turkeys and broiler chickens commercially for 19 years and I'm very proud of the way my poultry is housed and taken care of.
I have the most sophisticated computer operated poultry houses in the world. There is 10" of insulation in the side walls and 16" in the ceilings, I am able to keep my chickens at the perfect and exact temperature from day 1 completely through their grow out period around 60 days.

I have 100' of cool cell pad on the front sides of each house which enables the computer program to run water over these pads when needed in hot weather to maintain a cool temperature at all times. There are 13 50" tunnel fans at the opposite end of the houses to move air across the birds at 600' per minute, this alone gives a wind chill effect of -10 degrees below the outside temperature. When it is 95 degrees outside by pulling air through the water running down the cool cell pads at the high air speed  will make the temperature in the low 70 degree range on the chickens.

My chickens are always very healthy, clean and beautifully white, this comes from micro management. My farm is inspected by personnel from companies that purchase these chickens for their customers. They are always very satisfied with the process I use in caring for these animals.

Do not believe everything you see and read from propagandist because they have a tendency to make things look as bad as possible   to confuse your mind.

There are always farms not equal in every respect but the company I produce chickens for has regulations we adhere to and the animals could not be grown more humanely.

You can also believe me when I say organic and free ranging is not exactly what you may think it is. There are free ranging farms in my area and I would prefer eating my chickens.

A company in the UK; Bernard Mathews much to the surprise of many British consumers; was bringing into the country Turkeys bred in Eastern European counties; the site next door to a known Avian Flu; I love that term; Bird flu outbreak.

This company brought the birds back to the UK; we heard of a bird flu outbreak and they had to put down thousands of birds; just in case.

Here is the best part........the British Taxpayer now has to pay them compensation of £600,000 for loss of stock; shocking when they knew, it is reported that they were breeding Turkeys next doot to an area of known Avian flu.

I did forget to mention that in the UK, the more you break the law, the more you are paid for that inconvenience.

It remains, per my previous suggestion, The Great Chicken Little Flu Hoax (or SCAM)...

No, the sky is not falling, or going to fall.

Just like there was never any lobbying for massive funding to address rogue large meteorites from coming to hit and destroy the Earth, until the military industrial complex looked STUPID (I'm not trying to be redundant)  building Star Wars (and still is) for a Soviet enemy that does not exist, and it's difficult to redeploy hard assets, like subs and ICBM's, onto moving Al Queda targets, without a great deal collateral damage.

The ILLUSION of fear is instilled, by vested interests, to gain $$$ and lots of it for NO NET benefit to those purportedly being protected, but rather those receiving the funding.

Uncle Russ

The video was disturbing. Maybe that's how they do it in India, but not in East Texas!

I lived on my father-in-law's broiler farm for 2 years and helped out with the chickens. We raised them from the day they were born to the day they went to market. (40,000 at a time). we did not "debeak" them or inject them with anything!

I remember fondly cuddling double armloads of newborn baby chicks! I enjoyed watching them as they grew up.

We kept them well-fed, plenty of fresh water (the same deep well water we drank - no flouride, no chlorine), not crowded, as close to ideal temperature as possible, and as happy and healthy as possible.

We kept the houses as clean as possible, no strong ammonia smells. After all, our house was only 50 feet from their house! Happy, healthy chickens make big chickens!

I was always sad to see them go, but I know we were good care takers while we had them.

They went to a local commercial processing/packing plant. I would eat their chicken.
