Don't Be Fooled by Coca-Cola's Newest Green Tea Energy Drink

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has taken on soft drink giants Coca-Cola and Nestle once again for good reason, filing a lawsuit for ridiculous fat-burning claims made about their latest, useless energy drink, Enviga.

The companies claim their "optimum" combination of green tea, caffeine and plant micronutrient content creates a negative calorie effect, that according to their own research, help consumers of a thin-to-normal weight burn as much as 100 calories a day.

Unfortunately, about the only thing "burning" here, is a hole through your pocketbook, not to mention your health. For starters, the privilege of burning up to 100 calories a day means drinking three cans a day, meaning it can cost as much as $315 to lose one pound. And, that's not taking into consideration the health-harming amount of caffeine -- 100 milligrams -- contained in each can of Enviga.

To add insult to injury, this latest carbonated concoction steals from the wonderful reputation of green tea -- specifically Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) -- a proven weapon for fighting cancer and the AIDS virus. Remember, green tea alone is a far better alternative, but usually not when it comes in a can or bottle...

Once again, another neuro sensor stimulant overload beverage of caffeine, or other similar beverages with FALSE, MISLABELED & NON COMPLIANT and NOT Generally Recognized As Safe additional caffeine-like products like taurine, guarana, etc., to FALSELY HYPE 'energy' and 'dieting' !

Neuro Senor stimulation does NOT burn calories; exercise, or exertion that is higher than caloric intake, does.

In point of FACT, these are very harmful to long term nutrition, health, well being, and in combination with many OTC drugs, prescription drugs, other diet regiment aids, as well as alcohol consumption (in even moderate amounts) can KILL YOU from cardio vascular arrest (heart attacks).   This is NOT speculation, Red Bull and other Jolt like products have already KILLED many globally just with this very combination.

I also find this beverage to be  a cold, evil, and calculated deception by the marketing types at Enviga, to hype the benefits of real green tea, whether it's in at functional levels, or more than likely at what are called in the formulation business (particularly among many main offenders in the beverage category selling water or carbonation) "window dressing".  'Window Dressing' means touted ingredients in at less than efficacious dosage levels to sell more cans/bottles of the stuff.

Coupled with the fact Enviga has tried to HIDE the sweetener(s) system from the public and potential consumers, of DANERGOUS & CHEMICAL highly refined intensity sweeteners (read Dr. Mercola's SWEET DECEPTION, if you have not), it is more than SAFE to say you the public are once again being bamboozled by unhealthy soda and big beverage hustlers.

Enviga being the answer to your diet, is the equivalent of thinking Jim Jones Kool-Aid can help you also.

ENVIGA = Exceptionally Nasty Vanity  Inviting Gullible Americans..

Another product with what I believe to be deceptive in its labeling is a product called 10 degrees South, a clever advertising promotion label.  "Red Tea" and " No Caffine" and "Sweet" are clearly visible on the label......and, very misleading once you read the fine print.  They tout the virtues of Rooibos Red Tea as being a healthy antioxident, etc....using all the good "terminology" about it....then, when one examines the fine print, under nutritional facts,  they have obviously negated the good qualitites of such with two toxic sweeteners...sucrolose and neotame!   Ken Escoe, President of Top Shelf Foods, LLC appears  under all the hype about the virtues..... and it says "Try it for your health"!
I am having to re- train my husband to read food labels when he goes shopping.....and the irony here is that should anyone become ill from having inbibed on this stuff, the company and the "FDA" would target Rooibus as being the culprit!  It's a profit deal!!!!!!

This is a question for Russ Bianchi relating to his post of February 3 re agave:

Could you please tell me where you got all the negative information about agave--directing me to websites, whether government or others.

Thank you.

Laura

This is why making claims can be so dangerous.

Most soft drinks have up to 17 teaspoons of sugar in them. 1 tsp inhibits your immune system for up to 4hrs! And society is still wondering why children are becoming more ill younger and younger?
