FDA Continues to Support Drug Cartel
What's more important when it comes to the approval of new drugs--safety or speed?

With drug companies paying millions of dollars in "fees" to the FDA to ensure speedy approvals for their drugs, the FDA's answer is ... speed.

Recent drug safety scandals have rocked the nation and brought the FDA in for questioning on Capitol Hill, with many questioning the FDA's ability to strike a good balance.

The tip-off, according to critics, is the increasing number of FDA drug-safety officers who are finally admitting to coersion, threats and retaliation from management, when bringing safety issues into the light.

The latest of these victims is Dr. Rosemary Johann-Liang, who quit her seven-year career with the FDA after being stripped of her independent judgment and excluded from crucial safety reviews and meetings by her boss Dr. Mark Avigan.

What was her undoing? Recommending boxed warning labels on the drugs Avandia and Actos, after determining these drugs induce swelling problems that can lead to visual problems, weight gain and ankle swelling that, if left untreated, may cause heart failure.

Everyone needs to be aware that taking patent drugs involves magnificent risks to their health, and that the pushing for quicker approvals in the name of "saving lives" is nothing but a pipe-dream, fueled by massive profits.

The paradigm that drugs are the best solution for health problems has got to be changed.  Drugs should only be a last resort for emergency situations.

We each cast our votes with our choices in life.
Whether or not to use drugs.
What foods we buy.
Who we teach.

Choose well : )

What ever happened to common sense? Is it just me or does anyone else remember parents, teachers, even doctors saying, ”If it isn’t natural it does not belong in the body”?

I do believe that this simple fact should be “screamed from the mountain tops” (the media) as a counter attack on the legalized poisonings that kill at least 300 daily! (By the way did you know the word, "druggist" or "pharmacist" comes from the Greek word "pharmakon" meaning "poisoner" ?

Come on people! Please ask yourself how we can best accomplish this, “should be” simple task! I for one keep racking my brain but don’t see anything except an expensive media campain!

We must call on the wisdom of Uncle Russ! (Any ideas, Russ?) For that matter How about you, Dr. Mercola?

I agree.  And this is going on in the midst of the "War on Drugs," which is really the "War on the Drugs They Can't Patent!"

In my university days I learned that the Greek word "pharmakos" meant a "scapegoat" or a "sacrificial beast."  It was an animal that was supposed to carry the sins of the community, and then to be ceremoniously slaughtered as a ritual cleansing of the evil of a community.  I'm not kidding about this!

Hmmm....any ideas for what to do with our pharmacists? (Just kidding about this part of course!)
