Genetically Modified Food -- Panacea or Poison

If you're still on the fence at all about the inherent dangers posed by science manipulating our food supply -- specifically the low art of genetically modified (GM) crops -- plan to spend an hour this week watching the documentary, Genetically Modified Food -- Panacea or Poison.

With the global demand for food doubling over the past three decades, some scientists believe manipulating DNA, thus creating "Frankenstein-like" foods that are impervious to pests and disease, are the answer, despite scant proof they're safe to eat.

The documentary argues the world's awareness about the GM blight started some time ago in Europe, spreading from the UK to parts south and east. Unfortunately, Americans are far less wary about GM foods than they should be.

Perhaps, Americans would feel far more skeptical if they realized 75 percent of the processed foods they eat every day contain a GM substance. Once you've watched this important video, I suspect you'll want to follow some of my common sense tips for staying away from GM foods for good.

For those consumers noticing the PR and image remakers 'look' of large agribusiness companies, like Archer Daniel Midland (ADM), Monsanto, Dow Chemical, and Cargill, you will occasionally see graphic images of on some news show TV commercials, or perhaps an advertisement in a magazine at a doctor's or dentist's office waiting room, with appealing logos and catchy tag lines, in the past few years, making them sound wholesome and green; but there indeed is a flip side to this.

In point of fact, such companies, have spurred the most efficient and incredible output of food crops in the history of mankind, and the argument goes will need to become even more efficient as global population demands need even more food production output. Thus, the need for genetically modified seed stocks and crops.

What is not being said, per the PROFIT MOTIVE, in the US and Canada and Mexico and Brazil, etc., is genetically modified crops are indeed physically harmful in all human ingestion, and Europe has already BANNED them.

I encourage all of you to see the free documentary entitled 'The Future Of Food', made a few years back, that Dr. Mercola has mentioned in the past, and is/was available to see on this web site or the internet.

As I have pointed out before, 60 Minutes ran a segment on genetically modified russet potatoes to increase storage shelf life.  As any person from potato growing country can tell you, there never was a problem with shelf life in potato storage in underground cellars.  Anyway, two groups of rats were fed regular russet potatoes and genetically modified potatoes.  Regular potato fed rats gained the normal expected weight, BUT the GMO potato fed rats started growing 5, 6, 7, and 8 limbs out of their backs, necks and torsos within weeks of ingestion.  Ditto on farm raised gmo salmon, with huge weight gains and FULL of cancerous tumors.

JUST SAY NO TO GMO...

Russ, your comments on GM potatoes roused my interest.  I googled and found this document regarding:
...genetically modified (GM) potatoes with improved resistance to Phytophthora infestans

Also found this article about GM soy:
Influence of Genetically Modified-SOYA on the Birth Weight and Survival of Rat Pups
The GM soy fed rat pups had much higher mortality rates.

Not that I would recommend non-GM soy either :)

I became aware of this problem when a grassroots movement in England wanted to have people begin to bank seeds. It seems the US was trying to legislate having only hybrid seed, thereby controlling outcome.
This was a red flag for me, because I realized that hybridized  seed cannot reproduce after its own kind. This echos back to what God had to say in regard to what was considered food. Using terms clean and unclean. this in not a "religious" bent, but the first teachings on proper eating. If it reproduces, the life is in it. Otherwise it is dead.
I asked a Rabbi if they ever consider nonkosher stamp on gene modified foods. They regard it as no problem. I then stated to him what I just wrote earlier. He was silent. He said they had never considered what the seeds could or could not do. He did not realize they were sterile. We are being engineered to death.

We all have rights, beliefs and are entitled to our own opinions. But if you look at the rate of disease, how disease is coming younger and younger, the rate of the emergence of new diseases and the severe physical and mental/emotional decline of our society, I think that should sway your opinion.

In life, there are foundation principles to health:
1. Sleep right
2. Drink right
3. Eat right
4. Move right
5. Think right
TO BE RIGHT! I know that sounds simple, but it is. I have helped hundreds of sick people with just that. I have other tools to use depending on the client, but people are so far from the basics/foundation.

If we just took the time to care about our bodies, food, the environment, farming and so forth, to the same degree we care about our cars and houses, this place called earth would be a happy, healthy and peaceful place.
