Thank you for this information.  I knew there should have been a way to stop these offers, but if it is in the small print most people do not take the time to search for it.

Going to website is not sufficient, you WILL have to return a signed  card they send to make it permanent.( I called 800 #  back in spring)
Card came with my name horribly mispelled, so I did this again on the web site with correct spelling.
I asked our mail man once about hating junk mail, he floored me with this:
It's our life blood, without it we make no money ...figures.

Although I really like this idea, I'm not about to submit my social security number and date of birth online.
