More Dairies Eliminating Monsanto's Dangerous Hormones

The stream of food marketers ridding Monsanto's rBGH hormone from their dairy products is steadily growing with Safeway and Chipotle the latest to eliminate the health-harming chemical.

In the case of Safeway, its Lucerne and Dari-Glen brands will be affected, although Lucerne will be the only one branded as rBGH-free. Additionally, the grocery chain is also requiring dairy farmers and suppliers to sign agreements guaranteeing they won't use the Monsanto hormone. And, after an agreement from its supplier, Chipotle will replace the brand of sour cream it currently serves with its foods with a non-rBGH product. What's more, a division of the Kroger grocery store chain in the northwestern United States is on the lookout for non-rBGH milk sources.

Again, these changes may sound like good ones for your health, but they're nothing more than marketing ploys merely aimed at separating one set of product lines from others and more dollars from your pocketbook.

No matter how many chemicals dairy producers remove and despite the popularity of the "organic" brand, conventionally produced pasteurized milk is no good for your health. Not only does pasteurization destroy much of the iodine and vitamin C present in raw milk, the process renders the major part of the calcium useless.

As always, the best solution for your health is to find a raw milk source in your area.

I grew up on a dairy farm until I was 13.  I drank fresh raw milk drawn from the holding tanks every day of my life, and never got sick from it.  I still remember the layer of cream at the top, and you had to shake the bottle to mix it up.  Delicious!!

Just wondering if anyone saw the funny clip on The Colbert Report about rBGH and hormones in milk. Very funny.
Go to www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_colbert_report/videos/most_recent/index.jhtml
look for the one titled "Milk and hormones"

When I spoke to a dietician about raw milk, she mentioned the high tuberculosis rate in South Africa, and said that raw milk could increase the incidence.

Is this true or just more mainstream madness?

Well, I can't drink pasteurized milk because of the process, can't drink tap water because of the fluoride, can't eat any food because of the pesticides - even organic food is allowed to be sprayed with sulfuryl fluoride by the EPA, can't eat fish because of the mercury...  It seems my only alternative is to do what the North Carolina water quality supervisor, J. D. Monroe,  told me on the phone when I told him I objected to being forced to drink fluoride & that is to move away.  Is there a free country out there somewhere?
It would be great to buy raw milk, but I CAN'T - the government won't let me.  Is there someone, somewhere, that will ship raw milk for human consumption to me?
It seems the agenda of the government is to keep us just sick enough to produce for a few decades & then make sure we die as we reach retirement so we don't collect social security & don't spend any "non-productive" time here...
I used to think this was a great country; now I think it's one of the worst.

The good news about the rBgh elimination is that there's enough fear among the retailers concerning an informed public. The bad news is that the informed public in general doesn't seem informed enough. BUT, some other good news is that for a fuller raw milk story and to source raw milk legally near you go to the Weston A. Price Foundation website at . Watch for those cow patties.
