Quality of Life!!

People who exercise regularly have more quality in their lives.  They have the energy to do the things that they enjoy, and start to enjoy more things.  When sedentary people get fit, suddenly they discover a whole new life and and outlook.  Instead of watching tv Sunday afternoon they're hiking, horseback riding, renting a canoe for the weekend etc etc etc...

One motivater not mentioned here is to have a goal. If you set a goal of how much exercise you want to do each week, write this down and mark off each day the amount you have done, you are more likely to maintain the habit of regular exercise.

I agree Aaltrude, scheduling exercise works best.
I am taking up kayaking this spring...Lord help me!  All I can say is....

....even though I am inexperienced and scared that I will drown while flipped upside down in a torrential fast moving Canadian stream with my butt wedged in the apron...I wholely and completely accept myself!!

It helps tremendously if you enjoy the activity - I love kayaking & backpacking but since the kid has moved out on his own and I went back to school, we never seem to have time for that kind of activity any more...I've usually got my nose buried in a textbook on the weekends...

A sound body equals a sound mind.
It is a well known fact that people who exercise regularly live better lives.
They feel better about themselves and are able to think clearly and are generally happier.

Obviously exercising at a young age is more beneficial, as the muscles have a memory.
The mind muscle link, is some thing that you will not achieve watching TV - Good article - Thanks  ;-)
