Simple Tips to Sharpen All of Your Senses

From time to time, I love sharing brain teasers and simple solutions that can help keep your mind sharp.

Another interesting piece from the Ririan Project shows you some simple ways to fine-tune all of your senses. Listed below are a few suggestions to get you started, then hit the source link for the rest.

  • Adjust the volume on your radio or computer, so you can listen to music and still be able to conduct a normal conversation.
  • Take blinking breaks during the day to keep your eyes moist and your vision clear.
  • Give your taste buds a break by staying away from foods with sharp tastes -- salty, sweet, bitter and sour -- for two weeks.

Believe it or not, periodic fasting is another great way to sharpen your senses! Herbert Shelton and Paul Bragg have written extensively on the topic of fasting. It's basically an internal house cleansing that allows your body to function at a higher level! - Dr. Matthew Loop http//:www.matthewloop.meta-ehealth.com

I always have the volume on my computer or radio where I can hear another person over it.  That is if I have the volume on at all. I think avoiding the food with sharp, or stimulating tastes would be an interesting experiment.  Especially to see how your body reacts when you go back to eating them.

I think what our good doctor meant was to avoid all processed food for a while, & see if we can live with it. Sharp tastes even in natural food are avoided in yoga - except for sweet taste :)

Another possible way to help sharpen your senses: Take a bath in the dark. Open the window, shut off your exhaust fan, and leave the jets off. Add some essential oil, or use a soap enhanced with an essential oil. Let your eyes accustom to the dark, be aware of all smells and sounds. Feel the water, your washcloth, the soap. Most of all, just relax.

How about going without sex for a couple of months or so? That will certainly give one a new perspective. You might contemplate whether it's a drive or an addiction.

On an unrelated note, when I'm listening to the radio, music, or television, I often turn it down a click at a time, and when I reach the point where I  can't quite comprehend it, I turn it back up a notch.
