Toxic Baby Bottles Still Being Sold

Popular clear, plastic baby bottles are not safe to give to your baby. They leach a toxic hormone-disrupting chemical called bisphenol A into the liquid in the bottle, according to a report released by the Environment California Research and Policy Center.

Even very small doses of bisphenol A have been linked to cancers, impaired immune function, early onset of puberty, obesity, diabetes, and hyperactivity, among other problems.

Upon analyzing five of the most popular brands of baby bottles on the market (Avent, Dr. Brown’s, Evenflo, Gerber, and Playtex), the researchers found that all five brands leached bisphenol A at levels that caused harm in animal studies.

San Francisco was the first jurisdiction in the country to finally pass a law prohibiting the use of bisphenol A in toys and other products intended for use by children under age 3. However, the chemical is widely used across the country (and is found in the urine of over 95 percent of the population).

To protect your baby from this dangerous toxin:

  • Choose glass baby bottles instead of plastic
  • Avoid heating food or beverages in plastic containers or bottles (this speeds up the leaching process)
  • Don’t wash plastic bottles/containers with harsh soaps or hot water (this also accelerates leaching)

Again, it boils down to cheaper manufacturing for these $$$$ hungry, do NOT care about our sweet new generation.  Nor do they care about anyones health and well-being.

I raised my babies using  glass containers only, not plastic.  In those days, glass was highly recommended .  But then, plastic was not popular in those days.  People were afraid of plastic and did not trust this new invention, until, THEY advertised all of their lies and got away with this propaganda.

Please send this article to anyone you know that is using a bottle to feed their babies.

Breastfed babies are blessed. It is too bad there are people who get offended when a mother throws a blanket over her shoulder and tries to nurse her baby in public. It seems society causes mothers to feel uncomfortable about nursing their babies. So sad!

Cacao - you've got that right! People look at you like you're making a scene when women nurse in public - that is if they even know what's going on. The ironic thing - no one seems to mind those girls who just flash people! I suppose it's the difference between sexuality and caring for a baby..... It's so sad that mothers are made to feel self-concious breastfeeding in public.

Its just Americans who have glorified the breast as a sexual object.  I recently saw pictures of the Pope's trip to South America and there were women in line for communion with their babies latched on, right in front of the pope.
I think my wife would be asked to leave church here if she tried that.

Need to get this out for parents.  A list of safe bottles would be good.
