Genetically Modified Organisms folks ARE NOT SAFE, never were SAFE, and are unlikely to be SAFE, because there have been few, or no, human ingestion studies, for any reasonable period of time, over a randomized and empirically scrutinized large population base, that has not been funded by the proponents of these dangerous crops, with replicable data for lack of harm or allergenicity.

This is why GMO is BANNED in the European Union.

Argumentation that GMO crops are "just fine" because of animal ingestion studies, run by the promoters of such FRANKEN FOODS, is the equivalent of saying if is no adverse short term reaction in laboratory rodents, or larger mammals, there will be no adverse reaction in any humans.

Such argumentation has been proven false already in rats eating genetically modified potatoes growing 5, 6,7, and 8 limbs from their heads, necks, backs and torsos, within weeks of ingestion, as well as farm raised high yield weight gain salmon forming many carcinogenic tumors.

This repeatedly FAILED logic is a return to the 'bad old days' of such an argument for phalidimide deformed human infants, or DES (diethylstibestrol) pregnant mothers of the 40's, 50's and 60's!!!

Is the approval process for the food chain broken, corrupted, and harmfully effecting America's health? Yes.

What can each of us do about it?  Refuse, just like single individuals, and then groups, followed by countries, did in an OUTCRY to get these horrifically bad for you products banned here also.

Remember, arrogant US agribusiness corporations here, and in South America, lost BILLION$ in EU market share in seeds, crops and oils when the EU said "NO ".  YOU have the same economic leverage.

Can you imagine what the GMO food is doing to the young children who are going to be exposed to it for an entire lifespan! This angers me!

 There is a serious problem developing in our food supply. We are on the one side being  asked to serve as subject for the effects of genetically modified foods cloned meats ect.. No one can say with any certainty that these foods wont have serious effects when used long term. We really don't no how equivalent these foods will be .But while our experts are giving the green lit here . I think that there is also going to be an assault on safe organic food has anyone noticed the overreaction to some random cases on salmonella from spinach or onions or peanut butter . This stuff is generating more publicity then it should. The fda approves a spray composed of  viruses to prevent wisteria on lunch meat. In a recent article in the NEJM a doctor suggested that all raw vegetables be irradiated. I wonder what that will do to our health.

The Japanese Government is waiting ten years before making a decision on GMO's. Their comment was that they will watch to see what happens to America's children in that time. Our children are guinea pigs in this debate!
