| What Happens to Boiling Water Thrown Outside at 40 Below?
With the end of the winter season coming very soon, I thought you'd appreciate this cool video (free link below) that shows how boiling water is transformed when exposed to sub-zero temperatures.
In the video, a man throws boiling water into the air during a typical mid-winter day in Saskatchewan with temperatures dipping to -40 during the day. What follows is a huge cloud of freezing, steaming vapor like an ominous thunderhead, but just a few meters over his head. It's wild!
It never fails to amaze me how simple science and physics can explain so many seemingly "magical" feats.
