WiMax Technology Coming in 2008

Sprint's 4G WiMax wireless broadband technology is expected to be available to 100 million customers in 2008; this is the first hard date I have heard regarding an introduction. WiMax is set to revolutionize the Internet: it offers faster connection speeds than current Wi-Fi systems and has an amazing broadcast range of 30 miles.

When WiMax is unveiled, first to customers in Washington D.C. and Chicago, it will offer 2-4Mbps speeds for $55 a month. Plus, WiMax will be “open access,” which means you’ll have free reign to the Internet just as with your broadband account. This new technology has the reliability and speed potential to replace cable and DSL lines as the new Internet connection of choice.

I'll second Rod's experiences with Wifi. Bless you, Rod Sherwin, for speaking up! ES unite! There are a lot of people now who have found that they are badly affected by this technology. I was in someone's home who had it, and I could tell which room. I had to excuse myself and go outside. The problem with WiMax is that some people are going to want it everywhere, and then the people who are made sick by it won't have anywhere to go. A smaller group of people have been forced to flee because of cell phone networks. There are too many skilled, productive adults who have been forced to abandon careers, friends and even family to live an extremely primitive existence if they are lucky, or a nomadic existence if they're not.

I don't want it! I'm effected by wireless networking and computer accessories and have removed wireless 'anything' from my home.

Whenever, I'm in an office that has a wireless network I feel nauseous and headaching after a few minutes using a PC access the wireless network. I tried blue tooth keyboards and mice and found that within an hour or so I would have a throbbing headache.

I once tried a wireless wide area network card in my laptop and when I powered it up it felt like someone hit me in the temple with a brick and knocked my off my chair. Sorry, I will not believe any studies that tell me these are safe. I have also removed my cordless phone which I found was getting to me as well.

As an energy practitioner I've cleared a lot of disruptions out of my system and try to minimise the amount that goes into it. Yes I have a mobile phone but I keep it as far away from me as possible and not in my pocket over my heart in a my side pocket giving my pains in my leg.

I'm not a Luddite. I love my computer and my internet. And I know the effect that wireless has on me. I'm doing my best to keep as far away from 'wireless' anything as possible.
