Grape Seed Extract Stops the Growth of Cancer

Evidently, resveratrol is only one of more natural disease-fighting compounds found in grapes, as researchers have discovered the mechanism found in grape seed extract that naturally inhibits the growth of colorectal tumors in mice and cell cultures.

After first exposing grape seed extract to two different kinds of human carcinoma cells, researchers discovered a dose- and time-dependent inhibition of cell growth. For example, live cancer cells that were exposed for the longest time -- about two days -- decreased by 92 percent when given the highest dose.

Grape seed extract also increased the availability of Cip1/p21, an important protein in tumors that freezes the cell cycle and causes a cancer cell to self-destruct.

The results were just as impressive on live mice, implanted with advanced colorectal cancer cells and given grape seed extract (at a dosage larger than a human would receive) via a feeding tube. After only eight weeks, the volume of tumors decreased by 44 percent. Even better, despite the higher doses, the mice suffered no side effects.

If this news has you intrigued about the cancer-fighting power of grape seed extract, you'll want to review the newest addition to my Web store: Purple Defense, chock-full of powerful antioxidants derived from the all-American muscadine grape.

It would have been nice if Lew_Rockwell.com had mentioned that Bill Sardi has a clear conflict of interest, by being "the creator of the resveratrol supplement Longevinex", as the website

http://www.betterhumans.com/Features/Reports/report.aspx?articleID=2004-06-28-1

describes him.

Furthermore, while the effects of resveratrol appear to be startling, it is so easily oxidized that there is good reason to wonder whether any of the supplements on the market contain enough of it to make it worthwhile spending money on them.  Grapes are cheap! (But watch out for the pesticide residues...)

There is a stage III cancer treatment known as the Johanna Brandt Grape Cure For Cancer. It consist of water fasting for 12 hour periods followed by comsuming nothing but grapes in the next 12 hour period.  This study further substantiates it.

If you goto mackinlay.com, you can get(albeit non-organic) grape seeds in 12oz pkg.  I haven't bothered to find an organic source yet, but I will.

Rather than trust a company's guess as to what is the important single chemical or trackable chemical to standardize with, trust that nature has packaged them all together in a whole food.

Non-standardized supplements or the whole food are probably better.

Did you know that apricot pitts actually reverse the growth of tumors and cancers and actually shrink them?! The guy who discovered this is sitting in Federal Prison for this and had his documents and all his data confiscated and destroyed.  I think he is still alive but might be very old.

Go to google and type in Apricot pitts and Cancer Cure. There are tons of info.

Hmm...Interesting. I have insanely huge seasonal allergies and someone told me to start taking grape seed extracts  about a month before the allergies start. So as an experiment I stopped all my allergy OTC's and bought a bottle of grape seed supplements. It worked wonderfully!! Along with quitting dairy, which I also heard makes allergies worse.
