Can Love Be A Disease?

A fun satire I read today on the NewsTarget.com Web site (see link below) pokes well-deserved fun at the mega-drug companies. The offending company in particular, the fictional Pferck, sponsored a study that found love -- a common biochemical disorder affecting men and women of all ages -- was a disease.

And like most all mega-drug companies, unfortunately, the "study" comes on the heels of a new love(Miserexa) -- coincidently developed by Pferck -- that combines beta blockers and antidepressants to alleviate the symptoms of love. If you keep up with the shenanigans pulled by the mega-drug companies in the name of "good health" on my Web site, you'll certainly get a laugh or two out of this satire.

On a more serious note, however, lovesickness is now considered a much more serious health condition than ever before and, in some cases, can be deadly. It's especially important to handle stress better based on a recent study, because if you don't, your brain may "rewire" itself, affecting the way it functions.

The key is not to eliminate the stress itself but rather adjust your body's ability to tolerate it. I've found energy psychology tools, like the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), can be very useful to battle the dual effects of stress and depression -- even when coping with lovesickness.
